How to Handle and Manage Your YouTube Comments

The YouTube comments section can be a great tool for engaging your audience and driving conversation around your videos. But it can also be a place where negative or offensive language or discussions can derail a video or hurt your brand image. That’s why it’s important to be aware of how to handle and manage your YouTube comments. In this article, we’ll look at a few different ways to help you keep your community safe.

A comment is a user-submitted text or response to a video. It can be posted below a video on YouTube or via the YouTube app. Some channels require that all comments are approved before they can appear on the video page. This feature allows the channel owner to monitor and respond to comments as they are submitted.

When a comment is highlighted, it’s been marked by YouTube as noteworthy so that new or important responses to your video don’t get lost in the shuffle. You can highlight your own comments for this purpose, too.

To comment on a YouTube video, navigate to the video and scroll down to the comments area. Enter a message in the text field and click “Comment.” You can also give a comment a thumbs up or thumbs down, or select the heart icon to like the comment. You can also choose to pin a comment (which will show at the top of the comments section when viewed on the video’s watch page) by selecting More or the three dots next to the comment and choosing “Pin.” You can only pin one comment per video.
